A beautiful day after the rain.  The bees and other insects were busy, but took time to pose for these pics.  Hope anyone viewing these sees the amazing details that our God has created and provided for us to enjoy!

blanket flower/passion flower

This is Gaillardia Aristata that was planted from seed in 2009. This one is neat in that each petal is trumpet like in form. Bees like to have their picture taken on this flower.

This is called passion flower. It is a treat to watch this flower open. Prior to opening, the speckled arms with pads are vertical. As it opens, the pads are first visible and bright yellow. As it continues to open, the speckled arms swing down to a horizontal position with the yellow pads facing down. A neat thing is that the pads swivel like some dust mops do, and can give a good dusting of pollen to insects (bees) that crawl under it.

Life Lesson

The flower is named 'Passion Flower'; a reminder to have a passion for life and according to some a reminder of Jesus our Lord and Savior!
The other two pictures were taken the same day and of the same scene, and the life lesson is: that what we get from life, or in this case what we see in life, is dependent on where our FOCUS is. When we keep our focus on Jesus, our life is the best it can be. That is no easy task in this world, but a task that has great rewards in this world and the new one to come. Praying that Jesus help us stay FOCUSED!
