The Lords Prayer, Baptism Pics

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

And lead us not into temptation,but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

In John 14:12, Jesus teaches that as believers in Him we will do the things he did; and in John 5:19-20, Jesus taught that He only did what He saw the Father do; so it seems to me that when we pray ‘your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’, we are asking to be used to do on earth what God does in heaven.

How do we know what to do?  I think the answer is in the next line of the prayer, ‘Give us this day our daily bread’.  Jesus said He was the bread of life (John 6:35,48). In asking for this, we come to experience a higher level of God’s love and strive to love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength (Mark 12:30).  With expectation we listen and the Holy Spirit teaches (John 14:26-27) and the Holy Spirit speaks (John 16:13-15); and we learn and we know. What an awesome God we serve. Rejoice and praise Him, our savior!
